My Journey into Calligraphy
My story started when I was little girl. I have always loved writing pretty and remember having a white board when I was little that I would write on for hours!

One Christmas my dad wrote a poem that he ended up having trademarked and printed in as our Christmas cards that year (which I still have a copy of!). A lady who worked in his office took his poem and wrote it in traditional calligraphy and had it framed for him. This frame now hangs in my studio! It’s a main treasure of mine.
Long story short, I fell in love over and over with beautiful writing. Little did I know that one day I would actually get to do it as a job…a job that I absolutely adore and so grateful for!
In 2016, I started teaching myself modern calligraphy. At that time, there was not a lot of classes available, so I used a lot of Google and YouTube. Eventually I was able to take classes both in person as well as online to sharpen my skill and understanding.
One Christmas (is there a theme here with Christmas and calligraphy?!) I decided I would post some wood sliced ornaments on my personal Facebook. Little did I know they would be a huge hit and I sold so many that it paid for our entire Christmas gifts that year!!
As time went on, I ventured into pointed pen and started doing wedding envelopes and added on day of signage. It was the end of 2019 I finally decided to make this hobby into an official business. Little did I know (did ANY of us know) that the world was just a couple of months from shutting down. I used this time to get business mentorship and practice, practice, practice!
When things started back up, I continued to do weddings, but was contacted about doing a brand activation at a local Kendra Scott. I quickly agreed and OH. MY. GOODNESS. I fell in LOVE with on-site calligraphy and activations! I’ll share more about that story in another blog, but that is where my passion is and where I am today!

TL;DR: I taught myself calligraphy in 2016 after a love of letters since I was a little girl. Started out by selling ornaments, to wedding calligraphy and now I specialize in live event calligraphy for parties, events, VIP and Influencer events and corporate and personal gifting! I specialize in ink, engraving, hot foiling and even pyrography.
